Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza has begun serving meatballs, the Pasadena-based chain’s first new core menu item in three years, according to a news release.

The 2-ounce meatballs are a beef and pork blend and served in bowls of three with housemade red sauce, ricotta cheese and banana peppers.

The price is $6.99, but customers can try them for $1 per meatball with a pizza purchase for a limited time, according to a news release.

They can also be ordered as part of a Take Two combo, which includes a side such as a salad or cheesy bread.

Blaze is a build-your-own-pizza chain with the choice of five kinds of crust and more than 35 toppings. Pizzas come in two sizes: 6-inch personal pizzas with six slices and 14-inch pizzas with eight slices.

Founded in 2011, Blaze now has more than 330 restaurants in 38 states and six countries.
