One of Harrah’s Resort Southern California’s hotel towers is getting a total makeover.
The Valley Center property will invest $24 million in remodeling the 203-room Dive Inn Tower, located closest to Dive, the casino’s pool area. Renovations for the tower are expected to be wrapped up by the summer of 2024 and will include upgrades to its bathrooms, hotel rooms, and suites.
Guests can expect slightly bigger showers and new furniture and fixtures in the rooms. Appliances will also be updated, with standard room televisions upgraded to 55-inches, and the suites are expected to have even larger screens.
“Everything that guests see will be new from the hallways, the common areas of that tower to the rooms,” said Beau Swanson, vice president of marketing at Harrah’s Resort Southern California, in a recent phone interview. “It’ll be like a brand new hotel for guests.”
The first renovation for the Dive Inn was in 2007, five years after its debut in 2002, where it served as the original hotel tower for Harrah’s Rincon Casino before the property’s $160 million expansion and transition into Harrah’s Resort Southern California in 2014.
Swanson said the opportunity to redesign the resort tower was a fun process and gave the casino’s team another chance to incorporate some familiar Harrah’s themes and some that pay homage to Southern California summers.
“We wanted to lean into the Dive experience, water, and the pool, so there are a lot of connections with the design in the rooms to what we call California cool,” Swanson said. “There’s a lot of blues and nods to the beach and pools through the artwork, so it has a good connection to Southern California, its waters, and that whole experience about being on a beach or at a pool.”
Though renovations will be underway until summer, guests can still book rooms at the property’s north and south resort towers.
“This is part of our process of continually improving the resort experience that we offer our guests,” Swanson said. “We are constantly looking for ways to improve and update our amenities and make sure our guests have the best possible experience. With the redesign of the Dive Inn, I want our guests to feel that warmth you feel when you’re lounging by the pool or you’re in a cabana on the beach next to the ocean. You should feel relaxed and comfortable in these rooms.”
