It’s been a cruel summer for Taco Bell fans. First the heavily hyped Mexican Pizza went on a long hiatus, and now Choco Tacos are being distcontinued.

Choco Tacos are a novelty ice cream made by Klondike but sold in Taco Bell restaurants from the 1980s until 2015. The Irvine-based chain reinstated them to its menu at select locations in February.

But Klondike has posted on its website that it will no longer offer Choco Tacos due to a spike in demand for its other products in the last two years. “A necessary but unfortunate part of this process is that we sometimes must discontinue products, even a beloved item like Choco Taco,” the company said. “We know this may be very disappointing.”

The news recreated a flurry of traffic on Twitter as social media users reacted to the prospect of the supply of Choco Tacos dwindling to nothing at convenience stores.
