You may be one of those millions of people who have had Taco Bell’s new Nacho Fries with their burrito, but have you tried them in your burrito?

You can do it for 49 cents, representatives of the Irvine fast food chain say.

The generously seasoned, paprika-tinted spuds have jumped to the top of the list of Taco Bell launches, according to a news release.

The Irvine-based fast food chain sold more than 53 million orders of Nacho Fries in the first five weeks after it introduced them on Jan. 25, and they have been on more than one-third of all Taco Bell orders.

That translates to 9 million pounds of potatoes and 600,000 gallons of nacho cheese sauce for dipping.

Taco Bell’s previous champion was Doritos Locos Tacos, moving 100 million of them in 10 weeks back in 2012. Before that, it was the Crunchwrap Supreme, introduced in 2005.

Both items became permanent additions to the menu. For now, Nacho Fries are on the Dollar Cravings menu through early April, and the 49 cent “hacks” aren’t limited to burritos. Taco Bell says you can add them to any menu item.

Diners can also get Nacho Fries in a $5.99 combination box that includes the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco.
