Taco Bell will introduce a birria-inspired taco for dipping

The fast food chain's latest taco features shredded beef and two dipping sauces.

Taco Bell will debut a new taco on Thursday, Aug. 3 it’s calling the Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco.

The concoction features slow-braised shredded beef, which it describes a new protein offering for the brand in a news release. It will have melted cheese on the inside and a grilled cheese blend on the outside of a white corn shell and come with both nacho cheese sauce and red dipping sauce.

The taco was inspired by birria, a stewed meat dish from Mexico, and has been two years in the making, according to the Irvine-based fast food chain.

The price will be $3.49 at participating locations while supplies last, the news release said.
