The world’s first Peppa Pig theme park next door to Legoland Florida will bring to life the snorts, muddy puddles and little piggies familiar to the kindergarteners, preschoolers and their parents who watch the popular British children’s television show.

The new Peppa Pig theme park will feature six rides, themed playgrounds, a water play area, live show, indoor movie theater and fair games. By comparison, the Peppa Pig mini park will be about the size of an individual themed land at Legoland Florida, which boasts more than 50 rides, attractions and shows.

Legoland is counting on the Peppa Pig park being a hit with 2-to-6 year-olds who often don’t have the stamina to withstand a full day at a larger theme park. The mini park is designed to be just the right size for younger kids with shorter legs and a regular nap schedule.

If the new Peppa Pig park proves popular, similar mini parks could be coming soon to Legoland California, Legoland New York and other Legoland theme parks around the world. The Carlsbad theme park already has a separate-admission Sea Life Aquarium next to the front gate and plenty of room in the parking lot for a Peppa Pig park.

Legoland owner Merlin Entertainments partnered on the new mini park with toy maker Hasbro — which holds the intellectual property rights to Peppa Pig. Merlin has previously built Peppa Pig themed lands at Italy’s Gardaland and Germany’s Heide Park and Peppa Pig World of Play indoor attractions in the Netherlands, China and the Dallas, Texas, and Detroit, Michigan, metropolitan areas.

Merlin plans to open a Peppa Pig resort in 2024 with a theme park, Sea Life Aquarium and hotel in Sichuan, China.

If you’ve never heard of Peppa Pig and you’re wondering what the fuss is all about, then you probably don’t have kids or grandkids in the target demographic. If you do, then you understand.

The “Peppa Pig” animated television show starring Peppa, her pig family and their animal friends first aired in 2004 and now plays in 40 languages around the world.

The new Peppa Pig theme park at Legoland Florida will have kid-friendly rides, wet and dry play areas and a host of other entertainment.

The marquee attraction will be Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster — billed as a “family-friendly thrill ride” destined to become the first coaster ride for generations of kids. The first-of-its-kind Zamperla family coaster will have a lift hill and launch zone, according to Roller Coaster Database.

Other rides include Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride, Miss Rabbit’s Balloon Ride, Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure, Mr. Bull’s High Striker and Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour.

The Muddy Puddles Splash Pad water play area will have plenty of fountains and slides for getting soaked.

The park’s themed playgrounds include Peppa’s Treehouse, George’s Fort, Grandpa Pig’s Greenhouse, Rebecca Rabbit’s Burrow and Madame Gazelle’s Nature Trail.

Mr. Potato’s Showtime Arena will offer live shows, music, games and meet-and-greet opportunities with Peppa and her pals. Free games are available in the Fun Fair. Past episodes of “Peppa Pig” cartoons will play on the big screen in the Cinema.
