Final rain tally: Orange County’s wettest spots from 5 days of atmospheric river

No. 1 is Santiago Peak Standpipe at 11.38 inches

Five days of atmospheric river-fueled downpours soak Orange County to varying degrees.

The map reflects rainfall stats collected by OC Public Works at 61 sites countywide through Thursday, February 8, at 6 am.

The median rainfall at the 61 measurement sites was 5.15 inches with 14 collections topping 6 inches.

The rainiest spots were:

  • Santiago Peak Standpipe at 11.38 inches.
  • Upper Harding Canyon at 8.5 inches.
  • Coto De Caza at 8.31 inches.
  • Holy Jim Canyon at 7.63 inches.
  • San Juan Guard at 6.62 inches.
  • Brea at 6.61 inches.
  • Carbon Creek Channel at 6.57 inches.

Also, some sample sites across Orange County:

  • Anaheim Hills at 4.22 inches.
  • Costa Mesa at 4.49 inches.
  • Fullerton Airport at 6.26 inches.
  • Laguna Niguel Park at 5.63 inches.
  • Seal Beach at 5.43 inches.

By the way, the median rainfall in the past 24 hours was 0.39 inches vs. 1.54 inches during the previous 24 hours.
