The Santa Ana City Hall, Main Library and city zoo are closed until further notice, officials announced Tuesday morning, Feb. 6.
Power went out at City Hall early Tuesday in the midst of a rainstorm that has been battering most of Southern California since early Monday. A city spokesperson said power could be back up in the late afternoon, however, that is not for certain. City staff will be working remotely, but most services will not be available to the public.
The City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6, has been postponed to 5 p.m. Feb. 20. Agenda items will be carried over to that date.
The city’s main library branch and the Ross Annex were also closed because of the power outage.
Natural turf areas at city parks are closed until further notice due to muddy conditions, and Santiago Park is closed due to possible flooding.
Street sweeping is canceled. Emergency services and public works are still available. Residents can report fallen trees, flooding and debris through the mySantaAna app or by calling the city’s Public Works Agency at 714-647-3380.
Sandbags are available for residents and businesses at the Santa Ana City Yard at 215 S. Center St., which is open between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
