When Orange County’s mid-winter temperatures plunge to glacial 50 degrees come nightfall, al fresco dining may seem like a polar prospect.

Think again: While most restaurants with outdoor dining offer heat lamps or other fire elements to stave off the chill, a handful of spots offer blanket service, which not only provides a literal layer of added comfort, but also gives you the feeling of home.

The majority of the selected spots are near the coast, ideal for hitting our seaside regions for a night on the town minus the deluge of summertime tourists.

Keep in mind that these are merely a handful of places out of many that offer blankets. Here are 10 restaurants that offer blanket service for keeping warm while dining outside.
